Question:

Do you really need a debit/credit card account to use eBay?

Hello, I am from Trinidad and Tobago. I tried selling an item on eBay and ticked Paypal to make it easier for the customers. But when I finally finished my page and downloaded it in the site, I get this message saying that I have to put in a credit/debit account number for Paypal. What's going on? I thought the idea of having Paypal is that you don't need a credit/debit card account to recieve money from eBay. Is there any way to bypass this window? Please, if anyone has ever gone through this before, let me know now, for I really need good help here in selling an item.

  1. No to use Paypal you have to have a credit debt.  That is how they charge their fees and the place they credit the money too.

You can use EBay without that--but you have to find sellers that accept MO or personal checks (internationally that will be difficult).  Being a seller, a lot of buyers will not order from you if you don't take Paypal b/c it offers some (minor pathetic) amount of protection.
