  1. There is no yes/no answer for this question. Having the actual degree is not what makes people happy or unhappy. I'm sure no ones sitting at home staring at their piece of paper that took 4 years to earn and thinking d**n im so happy! Its more about what you can do with it.

Your happiness is determined by figuring out what you want in life and doing what you need to do to get there. Most of the time this involves a degree but if you can do what you want in life without a degree then you will be happy without one.

Theres not much detail to your question but from the sounds of it your letting what other people think get to you..Your not a better person for having a degree despite what society leads us to believe.

    all the best!

  2. Happiness is a choice.

You can choose to be happy right now, with or without a degree.

That said, you do need a degree to get certain jobs (doctor, lawyer, etc.).

If you decide to tie your own happiness to a specific career, and that career requires a degree, then yes, under those conditions, you need a degree to be happy.

People with college degrees tend to make more money than those without.  If you tie your own happiness to money, then yes, under that condition, you may need a degree to be happy.

The truth is, only you can answer the question of what will make you happy.

But I recommend everyone get a college degree, unless they have a compelling reason not to.

  3. I would say no.  But then that depends on what you think will make you happy.  Sure a degree will probably get you into a career and probably make you more money.  If that's what makes you happy then go ahead.  But it's not the life for me.

I'm 28, I don't have a degree and I've been travelling the world seeing places, meeting people and learning lifes lessons.  I must admit that having a degree would make it easier for me to find new jobs when I need them but I've always landed on my feet.

    It's up to the individual.

  4. Daisey... Absolutely not... learning and expanding your mind is a great thing... But you can do that on your own... my sister has like 10 yrs of college... she is the most miserable person I know and has many philological problems as a result.. My brother is right behind her having much to show for materialistically speaking for going to college. but again is very unhappy person..College has been turned in to somewhat of a God in this country.. and is not necessary for happiness or success..  Hope that helped....God bless you !

  5. Nope! What's the big deal with degrees anyway. A rectal thermometer has degrees and look where we put them!!!

  6. Depends how you define "happy." Personally, I would say yes you do.  For ex., my aunt dropped out, got her GED, and chose to work her way up in her company from the factory line.  She recruits for the company now, owns her own house, and is "happy."  So a degree didn't work for her. However (big however), she is NOW having to go back  to college (after 20 or so years after HS and about the same in the company) b/c her position in the company is at risk of being taken by a more educated and possibly younger person.  So, eventually you need that degree.  (You can, of course, go back but it is much easier when you are younger.) Honestly, I learned so much about myself going to college and it helped me better mature.  I ended up liking college so much that I am now working on my Master of Arts degree.  Do what you think works for you but do it by keeping in mind a vision of yourself 5, 10, and 20 years down the line.  Hope that helps!  Good luck!  :)

  7. I think that if you have a degree you would be a lot happier.

When you go on to college after High School you can take the courses that interest you. Then you can find your niche meaning what you really want to do with your life after college.

It is hard for young women and men now because in order to make a good living you need that extra schooling.

Also when students finish High School sometimes they don't know what they want to be. That is par for the course sometimes when they are older. It will all come together.

Just think about what you are interested in and go to school for it. Then school will be enjoyable for you.

    Warm Regards

    Michele

    Good luck
