  1. He already has the rematch with ODLH lined up for September and will then have to make a mandatory defense, so I can't see him retiring for a while yet.

I can't see him retiring before he's cleared out some of the young contenders in the division or people will say he was a fraud.

  2. He's not in retirement now. He has a fight coming up in September against Oscar De La Hoya. Actually, Mayweather has been active since his so-called retiring statement last year, when he fought Ricky Hatton.

  3. Sure, money motivates Floyd, but he loves to box too. I think he will retire for good in 2-4 years.

  4. When he said that he was retiring before nobody on the planet believed him and there is absolutely no reason to believe that he'll stay retired now........besides.........if Cotto fights and beats the winner of the Margarito vs. Cintron match then a Cotto fight vs. Mayweather would be huge...........it's already huge, but that would pretty much leave just PBF and Cotto left in that weight division among the top tier people(not counting Andre Berto who is still not a top condender.....yet)........if all that happens than I think there will be too much talk from the fans and the people in the media about Floyd ducking Cotto and I think Mayweathers ego will not let him sit back and hear it without doing something about it...........To tell you the truth though..........i'm not sure that if he did decide to retire that anyone but Cotto at this point could lure him out.............Cotto is undefeated and a big money draw................the other guys are not.

I didn't mention that De La Hoya is trying to get him to fight a second time and the first fight made a ton of money for both fighters............Floyd fights for the money now............he'll be back for either Oscar or Cotto.

  5. i know hes not hes fighting dalahoya again in september

  6. Unlikely.

  7. He'll lose before he gets retired

  8. No I dont think so.

  9. No. He likes money too much.

  10. He is not retired, and he never did retire.  He's been saying that so many times now, that people are not even listening to him anymore.  As long as the money is right, then he will keep fighting.  After he beat De La Hoya, he said he was done, then he got offered a ton of cash to fight Hatton and he "unretired."  He is currently scheduled to face Oscar De La Hoya in a rematch in September, after which, hopefully he will face Miguel Cotto.  Then, he can really retire and not have people complain about him not fighting top contenders.
