i dont think so..there is no global warming at all,it is a polar shift which explains the glaciers melting..do your research and dont believe all the hype going on..antarctica was once a fertile land until polar shift brought it to be situated in the south pole. and its like everyone's expecting the weather to be the same like last year or the year before.Time is just an illusion.Change is constant.

  1. actually it is us humans, we need to recycle where we wont be burning energy and polluting the air. im reading a book on it.

  2. yes mostly, although there is constant change in nature alone...human activity definately speeds the process..

  3. Well humans help partially, but it would still change with out us. The Earth naturally warms and cools over a matter of time. Thats how ice ages happen. There were no humans during or after the ice age and it still warmed up.

  4. i agree with Mallory H

  5. well the globe goes through many cycles of warming and cooling, but thats not the issue. the issue is that we are releasing tons and tons of greenhouse gases which is /enhancing/ or speeding up the change to the point where species are dying out because they dont have enough time to adapt to the changes..

  6. I do believe mankind has a slight, very small role in global warming.  Due to pollution to the air.  But, most of it is a natural occurrence, we didn't have any thing to do with the Ice Age did we?  Some things, those it is in our nature to lay fault for those things we can not answer, we can not control.

While we can not control global warming, we can become better prepared for it.

Better planning for flooding, and flood planes being revised by both the government and the EPA.  Better evacuation plans for low areas.

Changes in farming methods and research.

Other modes of transportation, and less dependency on fuel.

Other methods of heating and cooling.

Less storage.  Americans actually own so many items, that they rent storage space.  By cutting down, we would save money, and space.

Better lining of land fills and other means of disposal than storage of used fuels, bio-hazards and radio active materials.

  7. yes , i believe so.

  8. Yes it's us. We're responsible.

There's so many 'other' excuses dreamed up by denialist/delying groups now, it's ridiculous. You know the best one I heard?

Global warming is due to the demise of European Pirates. You know, the Blackbeard type. You see, those pirates started dissapearing around the time of the industrial revolution, and over time, as more pirates dissapeared, the world started warming up.

So forget CO2 and the rest of the greenhouse gasses, deforestation, the sun, volcanos, polar axis shifts, orbital changes, martian invasions...

We need to bring Pirates back to save the world! By the way that's what "talk like a pirate day was invented for..."

If you don't believe me, trust some outcast ex-scientist from upper Mongolia. That's what HE reckons!...

Okay, getting back on track. It's us. We need to reduce our fossil fuel use as much and as quickly as possible.

  9. I don’t know.  The composition of the atmosphere is one of the factors that determines the temperature of the surface of a planet.  CO2 does tend to hold more heat than oxygen.  Our air is held in balance by the ratio of Oxygen consuming animals and CO2 consuming plants.  I don’t doubt that all of the burning we do, which consumes oxygen and releases CO2 as a byproduct, is throwing the ratios of our atmosphere off kilter.  There is a measurable difference in the CO2/O2 ratio of our atmosphere in recent history.  Where I have my doubts, is how much this small difference can actually affect the temperature of the planet, and if the changes we have induced are really enough to cause the changes in climate that have been happening lately.

One other thing that bothers me is that this balance of O2 and CO2 in our atmosphere is crucial for making the air breathable for humans.    Theoretically, as CO2 levels go up, plants should adapt over time and start consuming more CO2 to restore balance in our atmosphere.  While I don’t buy all of the “oh my God, It’s the end of the world” theories, I don’t think that it is a bad idea to slow down our CO2 production rates for a while so the plants have time to adapt.  I think there are worse things for humanity than raising the temperature a few degrees that could result from messing up our atmosphere.

  10. heck no, it is really not true i think

  11. It is because of the humans..

  12. For sure, yes, because if u have ever noticed the artic is melting and sea levels are rising and soon we well fllod and many well die.... impossible not to belive----just think about it!

  13. No - Russian scientist are leading the US in this area.  Russian scientist have determined that the Sun, not man is causing trhe planet to warm up.

"Global warming results not from the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, but from an unusually high level of solar radiation and a lengthy - almost throughout the last century - growth in its intensity," Abdusamatov told RIA Novosti in an interview.

"It is no secret that when they go up, temperatures in the world's oceans trigger the emission of large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. So the common view that man's industrial activity is a deciding factor in global warming has emerged from a misinterpretation of cause and effect relations."

"There is no need for the Kyoto Protocol now, and it does not have to come into force until at least a hundred years from now - a global freeze will come about regardless of whether or not industrialized countries put a cap on their greenhouse gas emissions," Abdusamatov said.

  14. i think that ur right but some of it is caused by humans and the being conscious of what they are doing to the earth

  15. In a way, I do think we are partial to blame for increasing the temperature, but most of the stuff happening, I think, is normal.
