  1. yes

  2. Well the first American in space pissed in his pants. They delayed the launch of ol' Al Sheppard so long he had to get rid of the mornings coffee. They hadn't planned for that in a hundred percent oxygen environment. Everything went ok though. The only thing that scared Sheppard was the thought that he might fvck up. Although he did mention some concern about sitting on top of a rocket built by the lowest bidder.

  3. i reckon no.

They signed up for the mission knowing what lies ahead.

  4. Crew member in the singular !!

That would be Yuri Gagarin. He was a test pilot in the Soviet Air Force before joining the space program. A similar situation existed in the USA. John Glenn, Alan Shepherd and the like were also test pilots.

So frightened, I say NO, concerned, yes, and aware of the risks, certainly, but scared would be the wrong word.

The first human flight ever into space involved one crew member, as did successive flights for a period of time.

  14. I think anyone would feel scared about going somewhere they have never been before.  It's almost like going to your boyfriend/girlfriends house for the first time.  You are nervous because you dont know anything about the place and how his/her parents are, and it is scary.

  15. Well it was only one crew member, Yuri Gagarin.

He was a test pilot so I guess he had been through similar experiences many times before.

  16. O my gosh YES ! but I do wish I was NEIL ARMSTRONG .

  17. Yup, they were definitely afraid. Anyone would be.

  18. The first crew members were animals,  dog, monkey, etc.  The next were one man crews.  And heck yes, they were scared. They did not know if they would ever make it down.  Even the first shots that were up and then down again.

  19. Man, you should watch "The Right Stuff". I'd be scared.
