Ninn-cat doesn't like the car but can tolerate it. I'm still worried about her. Have you tried xanax for your cat and how did it work out?

  1. The one time I gave my cat a tranquilizer for a car trip, his bowels relaxed in the car and I was unprepared for that.  So be sure to be prepared for that little surprise.

  2. Yes, I have used kitty anti-depressants and if your cat is afraid of the car, I would recommend it. It makes your cat sleepy.

  3. do NOT give a cat a serious drug like xanax!!!!

for starters, you at least 12 times the size of your cat, you can easily overdose it

only give a cat a drug under direct advice from a vet

  4. Emphatically not!  Too powerful, and not formulated for felines.  If you are wanting desperately to sedate her, get something from your vet.  If she tolerates it well, I'd just take her without the meds.  Try putting her in a well-padded carrier--use a towel or whatever that smells of her for a pad--which should reduce her anxiety level.  If she wails or fusses initially, just have patience.  They do like to make sure you know how they feel about such things.

  5. try bach flower remedies first...all natural

  6. Never heard or tried it, but check with your vet just to make sure its ok. It probably is.

  7. as long as it is prescribed from vet it will not hurt the kitty
