  1. yes.  all of the above... look at karo parysian.  i prefer judo takedowns to wrestling takedowns, you just have to try it all out and see what feels good to you.

    former fighter.

  2. In time maybe but for now learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as most fights go to the ground and grappling is a must.

  3. I would try to do both Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  Judo's focus on throwing will make it easy to take the guy down if your stand up game isn't so great when you do MMA.  Once you have the guy on the ground you can work your Jiu Jitsu magic to submit him.

  4. well quite a bit of Jiu-Jitsu has throws and sweeps, i wouldn't  go completely out my way to learn it but it wouldn't hurt

  5. Judo is very beneficial for MMA.

I started in Judo originally a long time ago.  But the technique basics stayed with me.

My stand up game is much better than most guys that have been doing MMA/BJJ the same amount of time as me.

Now, I started doing Judo about once every week or two just to keep the principles down.

  6. I prefer wrestling over judo for the take down component of my game.  Judo's great if your comfortable in the clinch but I prefer to sprawl and brawl rather than tie up with my opponents
