  1. Yes - but no bin.  Our Town requires we bag-them and place them on the curb, on the appropriate day...

  2. Yes we do recycle. It is a city ordnance. Blue bags for plastic

    etc.

  3. Yes we recycle. One bin for paper and another for glass & plastic. Even cake containers from the store are recyclable. Everyone should try.

  4. I recycle loads of things & i have a recycling bin too.

  5. Yes and yes.

  6. Where necessary. We prefer to reduced and reuse, recycle only where there is no way to do the other two Rs.

Our municipality mandates that we may not send vegetable or animal products to landfill (We compost.)

We do not use a compactor on the truck so that the landfill operator can separate all materials, not just those with a current recycling sale value. That leaves next to nothing actually going into landfill and a lot of piles of materials awaiting recycling facilities..

  7. Heck yes! I have three bins. One for regular unrecycable trash, another for paper, and one for plastics, metals & glass.

  8. yes

  9. I go to school in Charlotte and I try my best to recycle everything possible. But unfortunately, my school (college) doesn't have recycling for anything but paper. Also, I have noticed, not only at college, but in general that people do not recycle or don't know enough about recycling to make a difference. Thus, I have to answer your question with another question: What can we, not just as individuals, but governments, whether it is local, state, or federal, do to promote a better knowledgeable society that will recycle, can recycling help produce an alternative form of energy, and how can we produce alternative fuels that are a/effective not just in cities or in the "country" and aren't used already in our society today?

  10. Yes.  We recycle in our house.  We have a bin for this.

  11. Yes. It's ashame how half of the things we use in our apartment can be recycled, yet the apartment building only has 1 recycle bin and 5 trash bins. Which means people are throwing away a lot of things that could be recycled.

  12. Yes we do recycle, and we have a bin. Most everything is picked up from our house and sorted.....

I really enjoy recycling....cause it will make a difference.

  13. Yes i do, and i also have a recycling bin. It is mandatory in our place to recycle and segregate otherwise the garbage collectors won't collect the refuse. We segregate bio-degradable, non-biodegradable and recyclables. Recyclables are further segregated into bottles, cans and paper. At first it was a little difficult but after a while you get used to doing it and it becomes second nature. Even if i travel i still segregate. I've noticed a huge difference in the amount of garbage we churn out after recycling. It really does help the environment.

  14. I recycle and I also have a recycling bin. But putting paper in the recycling bin is sumfin i just do i dont think about it first i find it really wiered

  15. i try and recycle as much as i can, but i dont have a recycling bin so my kitchen ends up with loads of boxes filled with thing to recycle and i dont drive so i find it really difficult to take them all to the recycling plant. as the recycle men wont take it all.

  16. Yes & yes, we recycle paper, plastic, aluminum, steel, glass, engine oil, and antifreeze.

I no longer buy bottled (al can or plastic)water or pop... kinda cool to watch the recycling volume go down in our house because of it.

Bottom line is to use less  STUFF.

  17. We have one that is provided by the local council and that is built into the rates that we pay.

All the items that go into the bin are mixed, but at the recycling depot they have a number of processes that separate the metals, papers an plastics.

I reckon the best contribution is to try to reduce the waste that goes into the bin.

I am continually horrified by the amount of rubbish that each house in our court seems to produce.  There must be a better way.

    Roger.

  18. Yes we recycle even thou it is not mandatory in our county.

    We freecycle tm also.

  19. yes I do... hope you do too....

  20. Yes we have bins for everything and i have three compost heaps for the garden we have fortnightly waste collections in our area and i can honestly say that over the last two months i have only put my bin out twice as i recycle a lot of stuff .If you have a garden dont throw out your egg cartons or similar tear it up and soak it and put it on the compost heap turn it a few times and every time you turn it add a handful of Garrotta compost maker and after a few months you have a great mushy compost that you can mix with your food waste compost anf it makes a great soil conditioner .

  21. Yes I recycle, I have a compost heap in the backyard by my garden. I put all kitchen scraps there, and I use a bin that the city probides, which is limited to what it can recycle, cans, glass, and some plastic and paper. Then I take other stuff to a recycle center.

    So Yes to both questions.

  22. Yes, and it's really easy, actually. My household has 4 bags hung up in the kitchen: paper, plastic, metal, glass. Plus there's a bin under the sink for compostibles, as we also have a compost heap in the garden. All you need to do is stop and think before tossing anything (anything!) into the regular garbage.
