  1. i recycle everything its so easy. I dont know why people say its hard work you just put something in a different bag or on the side to recycle later!!!!

Blimey how many more excuse can people make...just get on with it its only going to become more important and have more pressure put on you so get on board now!!!!

  2. i live in Benfleet in Essex, in a small block of flats, and we don't have to recycle anything their is no other collection other than the standard rubbish collection, so to answer your question, no i don't recycle, council won't let me or collect it

  3. I try my best but sometimes I get a bit confused as to what is recyclable. If in doubt..I trash it.

  4. Yes, but only if my recycle bin is full and I feel bad throwing recyclables away. I'm such a hippie!  ( :I~~

  5. "Just put all my recycle-ables in the appropriate bins and bags this morning" and No I don't cheat and just throw it in the bin, I also take whatever I can't put in my bin to the recycle plant in my area".....

  6. I like to think I recycle everything I can.  If the occasional 'accident' happens, I'm not aware of it.

  7. Do I recycle ? Since I was very young I was taught this.  Not "nutty" recycling but "doing your part" to be a good citizen.

    Then I moved to Milwaukee:

Here there are "dumpster divers" galore, and right out my bedroom window!  Some are "canners" and others pretend to be looking for aluminum cans when really they are window peepers, car theft artists, snatch-and-run, muggers and far  far worse. My recycled mail was "gone through" as well.

I have had to form  plans to keep the garbage cans inside all week and try to catch my city trash truck .  This has not been agreed to  by all and not worked .

If I go up the alley to the back door in the next block , 24 hours a day there are people lurking by the dumpsters and recycle bins.  Sometimes these individuals move the recycle into the empty trash canisters looking only for aluminum.  All the recycle of many households is then in the trash. All the lids are open for the wind to carry debris all over and the trash bags are torn apart  by so-called "dumpster divers" looking for  the aluminum.

When you call the police, maybe the guys get a ticket for trespassing and they are back in a couple days. We are powerless with the invasion and in spring it will be every twenty minutes there is a stranger on the properties.

At 6:15 this evening my doorbell rang and a total stranger thug wanted  a game-player he says he hid  by my  recycle cans  I was threatened badly and wish I did not have to stay here tonight. While I write this the police called about this thug.

    Do I recycle?

    HOW and WHY?

  8. No, I am an assiduous recycler.  I fill my green bin every month and a big green bag as well.  I recyle my glass at a local supermarket.  I also recycle my plastic bags and agree with Marks and Spencer, who are going to charge 5p per bag in future.

  9. I recycle everything that I can.  My recycle cart is always over flowing.  I only have a tiny bag of actual trash each week!  If more people had a compost pile there would be a lot less trash.  I even collect my co-workers empty water bottles and take them home to recycle.  Bottled water drinkers are the new smokers!

  10. i always recycle what i can we do need to be responsible for disposing are rubbish properly

  11. Salt lake county has a recyclables bin the same size as the regular trash bin... it's just blue. They come in handy.

  12. I do not cheat, because cheating is just hurting myself and my environment.  I recycle glass, metal, cardboard, plastic...I have a compost pile where all vege scraps go that don't go to the chickens.  Meat scraps go to the dog.  All paper is recycled by shredding it and using it in the dog beds.  After the shredded paper is smelly or flattened in the dog bed, it goes into the recycling bin.  I try to get as much use out of things as possible.

  13. i only recycle items that my recycle collectors take, i dont recycle stuff that has to be driven to special places to be recycled, the fact that you have to drive to take it there undose all the good you do by recycling it

  14. if I cant take it back for a deposit than I recycle it.I go so far as to cut out the bottoms of PRINGLE containers and recycle the steel bottom and put the cardboard tube into the cardboard bin, also beer caps and the steel lids from frozen juice tops and bottoms. My wife says I'm anal about recycling but OH WELL

  15. Always recycle.

  16. I always recycle, I also have a compost pile in the back yard for food scraps.

  17. Some things are just too much trouble to recycle where we live.  If possible, we recycle.

  18. Im a bit of a stickler when it comes to recycling, i ususally recycle all but the cat!!

Think its important for us all to do our bit..

  19. I recycle all I can. I get really annoyed at our council though as it only allows certain plastic bottles and certain paper. But I also have a compost pile.

  20. no i recycle everything get to be a habit. mm compost bin doing very well look forward to using the end product.

  21. I do most of the time, but occasionally i throw something in the bin.

  22. Usually I try toput in everyhting that can, but of course sometimes I get lazy and will trash an item that could have been recycled.

    :(

    I do my best though!

  23. u should always recylce.WAY better for our already struggling envirnment.

  24. I don't cheat and prefer to re-use as much as is possible, before turning things in to be recycled.  I also aim to recycle as much on my home ground, so that CO2 is not produced carrying it away to some other place.

Composting is great, because your output is valuable compost that enriches your soil as well as improves plant growth (thereby getting plants to recycle some more CO2 in the future).

My local authority has been the no.1 recycler in my country, so we are helped by having a comprehensive system to help us here.  I also buy products that are low on packaging content, so there is less to be recycled/dumped too.  Cheating's not worth it, as it helps push up local taxes (dumping costs etc) and hurts the environment for future generations.

Hope these thoughts help. Good luck, and don't feel bad about what you do, just work out easy ways to be a more effective recycler!  Rob

  25. just cut your name and address off the document and recycle the rest of it. If you have to shred, the compost bin will take a good amount of shredded paper. Cut the end off the bread packet,  and use the rest of  it with a rubber band at each end as a freezer bag. Don't use the plastic bag in the supermarket to weigh out the fruit- every little helps!

  26. i sometimes recicle paper, but thats about it...i'm ashamed of the fact that i'm too lazy to recicle...i usually throw stuff in the trash...=P

  27. No...when it becomes a problem I will deal with it....
