  1. Markers are pretty much un-recyclable.

Crayons are wax, so if they get too short or something you can melt them down and reform them into new crayons.

  2. wow i didnt know you could... idk if you can but what the person said above me works..fun kids craft

  3. One way I know of recylcing crayons is to

Grate the left over crayon pieces using a kitchen grater onto a sheet of paper.  Put another piece of paper over the grated crayons (i.e. like a grated crayon sandwich!)

Then iron over the top sheet of paper for about 30 secs or until the crayons are melted.

Peel the sheets apart and you have two beautifully decorated pieces of paper. Great for gift wraps, gift tags and kids art and craft projects.

  4. Several friends and I give crayons to a local artisan -- she melts them down to use in some of her projects.

On markers and pens I'm not so sure.  I recently was in an office supply store that I think providings a "recycling" bin for spent markers and pens.  If so great idea!

The pen I used the most I bought from a little island shop in Washington's Puget Sound.  It is made of recycled cedar and can be refilled over-and-over.  I love the pen and now think of it as even more environmentally "correct" now.  Thanks!
