  1. No, I actually look forward to it, its a privilege to serve.

  2. no way jury duty is kinda fun actually. If your employer pays for your leave. And you'll probably get kicked off the panel if you scream in court.

  3. I would LOVE to be called for jury duty!  Especially for a really juicy murder case.  I've been waiting for 20 years, but no dice.  Most of the people I know can't stand it and have been called repeatedly but me- never!  It's very sad...

I'm not 'among the people who scream at others for judging people and questioning their motives'-  fortunately, that's not what jury duty is all about.

  4. I don't refuse, but I tell them that I have a severe anxiety disorder (which is true). I always get picked over.

  5. No I would not, I would like think if ever placed in the situation, I could help maybe exonerate someone for something they didn't do.

  6. I'm a registered voter, if called to Jury Duty, it is my duty to answer the call unless I'm ill.  I have been called for Jury Duty in two states, showed up but, never was called to serve on a Jury.  Sure as heck don't understand the rest of your question!

  7. No, you have to go if you are called except for people in the service or hearing impaired or in jail.

  8. i just stand up and drop my drawers and moon em, gets me off very time!!!!

i've been in jail for contempt!!!!

  9. I got to serve once, it actually is was fun and a good learning experience. I learned that you can't believe what the lawyers (DA or denfese) themselves say, they aren't sworn to tell the truth. So both sides slant the case their way. The judge said the only thing we could consider was the testimony of witnesses. Try it, you'll like it.

  10. I don't refuse.  I go, and I answer the questions honestly.  And I do not make a good juror, and have admitted it to a judge.  I was the first one crossed off the list when they selected the jury.  Plaintiff's lawyer crossed me off.  I would have been VERY sympathetic to the defendant.  It was a personal injury case where this guy was suing for everything you can think of, and his wife was getting in on it too, suing for "loss of consort".  Yes, she hadn't had any in a while because after the accident, her husband just couldn't "work the mission" because it hurt.

Of course, when the defense lawyer asked if anyone had chronic pain, and I said that while home on leave from the Air Force I got kicked in the knee by a horse, that's when it went all down-hill.  I don't care that the judge laughed, I don't care that the jury laughed, I don't care that the peanut gallery laughed, and I don't care that the defense laughed.  However, when scumbag personal injury lawyer and 2 clients laugh, well, then.  If getting kicked in the knee by a horse is funny, his injuries should be HILARIOUS!!!

Yeah, at that point, they would have got nothing from me, and I made that fairly clear when I answered a few more questions.  I was walking a fine line, though, with not pissing off the judge.
