  1. I'm 16 yrs old and I plan to go to university but I can still answer your question from my dad's story.

He didn't have the opportunity to go to university because there was no way in h**l his parents could afford it (they were both farmers). He always knew that he was smart enough and wanted a degree and when he grew up and started working as a teacher (in primary school where you don't need a degree to work) he used to compare himself to his colleagues(not in a bad way) and he knew that he could be better than what he was. The mentality of the people working with him was below his level. However, by this time he was in his thirties and my sis, myself and my bro were really young and he accepted that his time had already passed and he would do everything in his power to make sure that we got a good education. When we got a bit older, he went to university and he was 45yrs. old then. Today he's 48 yrs. old and he has successfully completed a bachelors degree in Business and Information Systems. So...yeah my dad regretted not going to university.

I also know that some of my primary school teachers were doing their degrees part time and working because they had families to take care of.

I think that it's never too late to go to university but you have to have a lot of support and the willpower to go through with it.

  2. If you won't go to unversity or college, you will regret it doen the road. it'svery simple, nowadays, you can hardly a decent job without a college degree.

But there are alternatives as I found when I was broweing the Artilces section of the site http://www.AseanFace.com. A home base business can be achieve through the internet like work at moms.

  3. No, because I went.

  4. well let me tell you from personal experience. I tried university 3 times and after getting half way through a jounalism degree it became perfectly clear to me that the life academe was just not for me.

I have since become a police officer, and I currently work in the field of Child Protection. I derive enormous pleasure from being able to help kids in trouble.

Do I regret not completing university...... at times yes. Many of my peers have gone on to careers in law, engineering and medicine. That being said I have recently gone to a school reunion (i won't sayhow many years...;-) ) and it struck me that there are many of my former school mates that are tremendously unhappy in their careers since university.

There are many paths to a happy life. University is but one of them. I do agree with some of the other answers here that it can make life a little easier in terms of being a qualification and getting a job, but what you do at University and what you end up doing can be two vastly different things. I know this doesn't really give a solid answer to your question but as I said there are many ways to get to where you want to go.
