Question:

Do you regret your partners abortion?

Mostly a question for men but...

Did you feel powerless? What did you personally want to do at the time?

Im just curious for the male perspective.

And if you have children now do you ever think about it? And most importantly do you regret it?

What age were you when it occurred?

I recently had an ex-boyfriend call me in tears regretting this decision(which happened many years ago) and am curious how other have coped.

Also did you break up afterwards?

  1. My husband of two years basically forced me into having a termination (when I was 20). We split up very soon after, and even 8 years on, he's never expressed any regret.

He once said to me that having an abortion is no different to having your toenails clipped, it's just removing something you don't want to be there.... I'm sure you can see why we split up. I've gone on to have 2 children, he doesn't have any (and I don't think he ever will)

Thanks for such a brave and interesting question. It's a shame some people see it as an opportunity to jump on their soapbox and give you a hard time, when they know nothing about the situation behind your decision. All the best

  2. No. It was Her Choice, Her Decision...-& I believe in Respecting the HARD decisions that Other's have to make (my OWN Opinions- not withstanding). Our Relationship was not alterd in any way by it...   :)

  3. Married her later, then divorced after 6 years.  Neither of us ever mentioned it, so I don't know how it affected her (35+ years ago when I was 30).  I have always been grateful for the abortion because I know the child would not have  done well with us as parents.  I already had a son, later 3 step-children, 5 grandkids.
