  1. To the Indian Reservations along with the crappy peanut butter...

  2. yes i remember.  My dad was laid off from his job in the early 80's for about 3 years.  We received some of it and it was very good.   Came in a big block like Velveeta.  I don't know what happened to it but....if the economy continues downward, we just might see it again.

  3. I loved that cheese. I remember being shocked at how tasteless sliced cheese was when I first tried it, since I had grown up with the old government block! It was also nice to have the ability to make that slice as thick or thin as you wanted to, and to top it off it was the perfect size for a sandwich!

I never had a problem with that government food, and I remember the can of peanut butter very fondly.

  4. Gawd.........I hate to say it but I loved it!  It made the best homemade mac & cheese ever!  I think they now send all that kind of stuff overseas.  Too bad since we have so many hungry people in the US and we could use it here to.

  5. Yep, and Peanut butter and saltines as well.

This was back in the 60's as I recall.

  6. as far as I know, it still exists.

I bet some went to New Orleans

  7. Believe it or not but they have it in Puerto Rico for those who are on the Familiar Plan and WIC. Well thats 70% of the population!!!

  8. Yes

  9. it was just the best cheese ever.mmm delicious.don't know why you can't buy any velveeta that good.

  10. That cheese was good, I'll give you that but how can someone make a post like this and not mention those great huge things of USDA honey!?

  11. Iraq

  12. Heck yeah

    That was some great chesse.

I remember my dad getting it back in 1957 along with other stuff (powered eggs, powered milk) That was like the best chesse and them eggs were good too. Last time i saw any of that cheese was in the early 90's in Ga.

Things keep going like they are now and we may be getting it again.
