  1. Every player is given four cards at the beginning. The cards in the rest of the deck are passed around until one person gets four of a kind. When you pick up a card you have to drop another, so you can only have 4 cards at a time. Then the person with four of a kind picks up a spoon and everyone else picks up a spoon, but you are supposed to put down one less spoon than there are people playing so one of the players doesn't pick up a spoon and is eliminated. Then you keep doing this until one player is left.

  2. Put one less spoon than the number of players in the center of the table.

Everyone starts with 4 cards.  The dealer pickes up a card from the deck and then passes one card to the next player.

That player then passes a card... and so on.

When a player has 4 of a kind, they grab a spoon.  AS SOON AS SOMEONE GRABS THE FIRST SPOON it is a free for all for the remaining spoons.  Whoever doesn't get one in time is eliminated.  Players can also be tricky and pretend to grab a spoon, if they trick soemone into grabbing one, that player loses.

I remember a spoons drinking game in college.  There was a chick fight and a broken chair before we decided to stop.

  3. Everyone sits in a circle and gets dealt 4 cards.  There is always 1 less spoon than the number of players in the middle of the circle.  The first person picks up a card and sees if they want it or not, then passes a card to the next player.  You cannot look at more than one card at a time.  Once a player has 4 of a kind, they grab a spoon.  Once a spoon is grabbed, it is a mad rush to grab a spoon.  Then it depends on your rules for what happens to the player without a spoon.  We play it as, if you don't grab a spoon 3 times, you are out.  Once a person is out, then the number resets to 0.  You play until there is only 1 person left.

Love the game.  Though I have come out with bloody hands before.

  4. Same basic rules as above except to make the rounds last longer we spell out a word like "pig" or "spoons" or whatever.  when the whole word is spelled out on a person they are eliminated. see the link.
