1. Yes, I remember it. We were told that the astronauts were the first to use it.

  2. Yes. My mother wouldn't buy it because us kids wouldn't drink it. Tasted like pure sugar.

  3. yeah they still make it, in fact we have some at my house right now =0

  4. Yes. It was one of those things that initially, tasted great. But then there was an aftertaste. I drank it, but being from Florida, real OJ was better.

  5. Guess I'm in the minority, I thought it was awful. but it's still around. I liked Hi-C, anybody remember that one?

  6. We mixed it with instant tea and instant lemonade, cinnamon and cloves to make spiced tea. Kept it in a jar at the ready to mix with water and pop into the microwave.

Just checked web for recipe and here it is:

    1 Cup Tang

    1 Cup Sugar

    3/4 Cup Instant Tea

    2 Scoops Lemonade Mix Optional:

    1 Tsp Cinnamon

    1 Tsp Cloves

Place all the ingredients in a sealable container. Shake vigorously. Mix to suit your tastes - I use one Lemonade scoop for a tea glass. Can be served hot or cold.

(Note: Tang changed their formula and made the powder more concentrated. If you got this recipe before 2007, the Tang quantity has been reduced from 2 cups to 1 cup.)

  7. Yes I do and it was good. Don't know if they still have it, but if they do, I hope it tastes as good as it did back then! Hugs to you to!

  8. I loved it, too.

  9. I can't remember seeing any commercials for it since the mid-nineties, but I'm sure it's still around somewhere. I'd forgotten about it.

  10. They still have it. I don't drink it though - I don't trust powdered drinks

  11. yes we drank it because the astronauts did(as the commerical said) and I recall that it WAS very tangy!

  12. Yes, it is still available - but not in all stores - use the Yellow Pages and call around before shopping for it.

  17. Yes, I remember Tang. I Loved it as a kid!

It looks like they still make it! >link below

Tang is a sugary, orange-flavored, non-carbonated soft drink from the USA. The original orange flavored Tang was formulated by General Foods Corporation in 1957 and first marketed (in powdered form) in 1959.[1]

It was initially intended as a breakfast drink, but sales were poor until NASA began using it on Gemini flights in 1965 (researched at Natick Soldier Systems Center), and that use was heavily advertised.[2] Since that time, it has been associated with the U.S. manned spaceflight program.[3][4] Tang is also a popular beverage in the Philippines as its sweetness satisfies the Filipino palate.

  18. yes i still drink it and it is still available in the stores

  19. Never cared for it (too sweet!) but, hey, if the astronauts drank it, I did too! Fortunately, I outgrew the notion that I had to do what celebrities do.

The stuff is still made. I purchase the store brand, however. You've never had a dishwasher so clean and good-smelling until you've run a cycle in an empty DW using this instead of DW powder. It's mildly abrasive and fresh.

  20. Sure do, my mother loved it.....

  21. yes == the drink that went to outer space -- i never acquired a taste for it -- i did know a guy that mixed it with gin and called it a pour mans s***w driver!!!

  22. Tang is great for cleaning the inside of your dishwasher. Just use it instead of detergent, but don't push dishes in the dishwasher, then run it.

I can't believe we ever thought that was good for you!

  23. Still on the shelves!!! Very refreshing drink

  24. I couldn't stand the stuff...no outer space for me.

  25. Yes, the official drink of the astronauts, I grew up on it.

  26. I think it still is. I know that Country Time puts out a powdered lemon-

naid like that and it is very good.

I used to make a warm winter drink, called Russian Tea with Tang.

You added Tang to powdered tea with lemon and added the Tang and

a bit of honey and it was so delicious. And especially good for a sore

throat. It made you warm up nice on a cold winters' night too.
