Do you remember this childrens' book?

My mom used to have this beautifully illustrated childrens' book that I'm trying to find. It was in fairy tale style format, about a child and a mom who lived out in the forest, and the child was sent away because of a war, and the story follows her journey until she comes back home to her mother. Does anyone have an info on this?

Why don't you ask your mum? It's not where the wild things are- there is no war involved.

You can send letters out to puffin, the chicken house and oxford to ask them if they recognise the book.

where the wild things are? but I think that was a boy in the forest? I may be wrong...but if you want a really good childrens book you have to check out "I'll love you forever" I'm ashamed to say it is a real tear jerker, especially if you have a good relationship with your mother. *have a knot in my throat just thinking about it!
