About two years ago I heard this funny story on my shortwave radio about this man who is going through all sorts of problems to please his wife for Christmas. The only bit remember now is that he couldn't get the turkey cooked so he lodged at a hotel to have it done there. The manager at the hotel told him that they had turkeys already prepared, but the man replied that he wanted his own bird cooked for him. Anyone remember this or know what program I'm talking about? I would wish to listen to it again.

  1. UK STORY:

Merry Christmas, Mr Bean (ITV, 1900-1930) R

1992 Christmas episode. Mr Bean prepares the Christmas lunch...and has a little trouble with the turkey. With Matilda Zeigler.

    US Story:

The funniest bit about turkeys on  radio, was never really ON radio. It was on WKRP, the TV show.

The punch line is when Herb Tarlek the sleazy sales manager and Art Carlson, the manager return from a station promotion all disheveled and covered in feathers. They had planned to give away turkeys for Thanksgiving. What no one knew was they planned to drop them from a helicopter to the crowd below. The classic line is uttered by Carlson as the credits start to roll, "I swear by all that's holy, I thought turkeys could fly!"
