Last night for the first night in my son's life I used his full name when addressing him to get his attention. Little Mr. Bradley had turned on and off the big screen a number of times and I finally had enough. He stopped, looked at me confused and walked over to hug me. Obviously I sounded angry as well. So, at 13 months old he heard his full name while getting in trouble. It sounded funny and it felt weird. "I'm officially a mom now" I thought, after I said it. Why saying that particular phrase made any difference I don't know. But it did. I shouldn't complain too much, he's a wonderful child, how many 13 month old's say "thank you" everytime you hand them something? Do you remember when you first started using your child's full name in this manner? Or, is it too early just yet? Did you feel "funny" the first time you said it? or Do you think you will?
