  1. Yeah....I bought my mom a bag and shoes......had forgotten about that until three years ago when she reminded me about it......


  2. Well after I paid my study loan and rent, I spend every last cent, I bought a very thin gold chain, which I still have. Then I remember I went shopping, opened an account at Edgars, went to the movies etc. spend spend spend. Never saw so much money in my life and it was a measly R 4 000.

  3. I am from the old school and my first official pay check I handed it over to my mum and dad. I mentioned official because I worked part time in my school days and that wage was used for my books and clothes and movie now and than.

  4. Yes. I was 13 and got paid for 2 weeks work mucking out the stables; I gave it to my Mother to pay bills and buy food.

  5. Yip was about 12 , helped out at a local cafe in Tongaat called Hajjees take away during Dec holidays, used the money to buy school shoes for the next year and a christmas present for my mum and still had a bit left over...

    I used the money to go on a FAT JOL to Masquerades in Johannesburg - caught the last bus there and then caught a taxi home - I drank about 20 beers, bought cigarettes, a lekker boerie roll outside the club and still came home with R25.00 - Hey how I long for those times....
