I've done it both ways depending on the season. If I plant in the fall I leave the pit whole. If I plant it in spring I remove the seed after I chill the pit in the fridge a couple months.  RScott

Okay, I'm a little confused...Is this right? You want to know if you should remove the pit of a peach before planting or if you should plant the whole thing...

You plant only the pit. You can either let the fruit dry and then remove it or go ahead and remove the pit. Then let the pit dry and plant it.
