  1. What exactly would you be testing or measuring?  In science you need to either observe the observable or else test a hypothesis on what is unobservable.  In other words, it either needs to be either directly or indirectly observable.  My knowledge of metaphysics is limited, but I am not aware of anything in it that would fall under either one of those categories.

  2. Wow, good question. I think anyone seriously interested in parapsychology or the paranormal would have to. I am waiting to hear people's answers.

  3. I think it's important to research all sides of the paranormal and all the paranormal beliefs. I haven't done it. I'm not in the paranormal "business". .and I don't teach paranormal. I've read a few books..but stopped doing that. Most of my information comes from people on this section. I think we have a pretty good cross-section. When they share links..I try to at least skim over them. Mostly I like to hear the experiences. That tells me more than any book could. I'm familiar with the mental health part and the paranormal part and the spiritual (church beliefs)part.  I don't have any reason to have to know everything. The Q&As on here are about as much as I can handle. I devoted 10 years of my life to the Christian aspect of this...as in Catholic and every other Christian church. Now I'm just trying to "put it all together"..for myself..for  my peace of mind & soul.

  4. no. never.

  5. Those are definitely two of the places a person probably ought to research metaphysics.  They have their viewpoints and those are worth pondering along with others.  Not to suggest they know anything more about metaphysics than anyone else, but they do offer insights about mental conditions that might also explain some small percentage of paranormal perceptions in a few among us.

People who are afflicted by Compulsive Delusory Unqualified Phychological Diagnosis Disorder [manifested as diagnosing mental illnesses in others based on disagreements concerning reality] would do well to research those areas, also.

Knowing a few buzzwords of psychobabble can lead a person to Delusions of Being A Psychiatrist Syndrome.

  6. www.about.com is a sight I often use.  There are many topics you can research there, whether it be metaphysics, paranormal, just about any subject you can think of, and gives many viewpoints, as well as actual case studies. And you don't have to deal with the "it's bullcrap" mentality.

  7. If by metaphysics your referring to new age mumbo jumbo .In My opinion no.Paranormal psychology is not recognized as a science at all at least not yet.Abnormal psychology in fact can study people obsessed with the paranormal.Seeing demons hearing voices etc that kind of thing.I doubt many Doctors of Psychology have much to do with metaphysics or the paranormal at all.Philosophers that's a whole different thing.Metaphysics takes on a whole new definition.
