Do you respect women soccer players?

I have a guy friend who says that he doesn't believe soccer is a girls sport. It's only for guys. Do you agree with his statement?

To your first question...I do respect women footballers.  A lot of it has to do with them just playing a very respectable sport.

Being a footballer myself...I have to say that football is an everyone's sport...come on...it is loved world-wide!  Why restrict the sport to one gender!

sports are for everyone to play. the best women may not be better than the best men, but they have just the same right to be allowed to play the game.

no not really i play soccer and we have 2 girls that are pretty good not as good as some boy but ok.  I knew this kid that suked at soccer so its not true.

I respect women soccer players. First of all they run their butts off. Anyone that can run that much for that long of time, I'll respect because that means they have endurance and heart.

yes i believe women should be able to play soccer. one day at my highschool mia hamm came and visited cause she knew a family there. she played soccer with the boy's varsity team. i walked over to the field and i see mia hamm dribbling down the field with a whole pack of boys chasing...none of which could get the ball from her. the boys varisty won state two years and there whole team couldn't stop her. girls can definitely play soccer. they might not have as much speed or strength but they are just as determined and skilled as the guys are

No because most professional women's soccer teams are as good as high school men's teams...its ridiculous...like if u ever actually watch a game u'll be flabergasted that something that pathetic is a professional sport

Sure I respect women's soccer----I've gone to see women's soccer. I paid pretty big bucks to see a women's World Cup final:  Germany vs. Sweden, and let me tell you: it was worth every penny.  Germany won in extra time.  It was a great game, well played, very entertaining. Girls could play any sport they want. But the truth is that they aren't as good playing soccer as playing basketball, volley ball and tennis.

I think sports are for everyone, and anyone who desires to play them.

As for respect, players don't earn my respect merely for playing.
