  1. It depends on how under or over prepared the food is. If I order my steak medium well, and it comes out bloody, you better believe I'm sending it back. I'm not paying $20 for something I didn't order. But I'm not rude about it. I simply say, "I'm not sure this is quite right." And I show the wait staff. They usually agree, and they are happy to oblige.

I've actually been chastised by a waiter for not saying something about being unhappy with my meal. I said so after I ate it, and I kind of quietly mentioned that it wasn't quite right. My waiter said, "Why didn't you SAY something?!"

  2. My guy said its a really bad idea to send something back, he doesn't trust people that serve the food let alone the chef.

Better to just not eat it and only tip if the service was good.

You can always get dessert to fill up on or go somewhere else for it..

  3. If the food you have ordered is not up to your expectations then by all means you should ask your server to make it right. Many times a steak is undercooked, and only needs to be cooked a little longer. This is not a problem to the restaurant and they WANT to make you happy. They want you to come back again and again, and making you happy will make sure that you do! Remember this is something you ordered, are expected to pay for and leave a tip for someone serving it to you. If it's not up to your expectations, then ask your server for help, and usually they will let the management know. Most good managers will make it right and are happy that you made them aware of a problem.

I worked my way through college in a very expensive restaurant, and we always wanted our guest's to be happy.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Truthfully what you've seen in Waiting doesn't happen.(pubes ect, however that lady was being a b*tch so that's why they did it)  There are usually always managers in the kitchen. (the kitchen manager)  If something is not right then don't hesitate to send it back. Just be nice to your server and tip well.  Because servers remember lousy tippers.

  5. I didn't see the movie, Waiting, so I can't relate my answer to your question.

However, I have sent food back to the kitchen when it was simply not the way I ordered it. For example, if I order linguine and received fettucine or I ask for rare and they serve me medium. If it's just poor technique or a bad recipe, I'll ask to see the dining room manager and mention it. Either way, the server gets a tip based on their service and attitude and not how the food was prepared.

Most of us work hard for our money and we should get what we pay for.

  6. no0.....no because no return  no exchange...lol...

    O_O

  7. I did just get up and walk out without paying once in a restaurant, would have complained but I think the staff must have gone on strike and walked out too - needless to say, the food was lousy, the staff were equally as bad but the company I was in was good so it didn't put a complete downer on the event hehehe.

  8. If the food is bad enough, then yes, I return the food. If it is just a little something that I can handle, I don't complain for fear of what might be in my food when I get it back. Some places, in my experience, are very happy to do what they can to make you happy. I think this is mostly in more expensive restaurants.

  9. one time at ruby tuesdays i ordered there cheese fries without bacon [ im a vegetarian ] there was bacon in it i didn't complain or anything but i asked if they could send it back and next time i got plain cheese fries. i always worrry about sending food back though cause you never know what they could of done to your food.

  10. I DO ! I spend an average of $30.00 per meal when I eat out.  I eat out an average of 4 times a week and never leave less than $10.00 tips. When I was in my younger years I worked as a cook and a waiter. I know when I'm getting poor service or poorly prepared food. I expect to get what I want and won't hesitate to request a food correction or let a server know their attitude sucks.. I've even gone so far as to return repeatedly to a place I had a bad experience at just to run a server to death and then leave them a penny ( face down ) as a reminder of how much I think they suck. Payback...what a wonderful thing!

  11. i work in a resturant and it is really hard for me to return food.. not because they are gonna put pubs in it lol... but because i just  dont like complaining.. i usually only do if something is really BaD... or my steak comes out well when i ask for it med rare
