Question:

Do you rinse your contact lenses case w/ water or the solution?

because i don't know which one to use.

today's my 1st day wearing contacts

and tomorrow when i put them on

i don't know whether to rinse the case w/ water or the opti-free solution.

help?

  1. i always rinse mine out with water and then let it air dry all day before i put my contacts in them again. i see it as a waste of solution if i rinse it out with that.

  3. Yep, solution.  Never use water; the other posters are right: it has pathogens that our eyes cannot handle and that the solution may not disinfect against.

    Once you put your contacts in, dump out the old solution, squirt the case with new solution, and then let it air dry during the day.  Fill the case with new solution at night, and make sure to rinse and rub the contacts before you put them in the case.

  4. Rinse your case with the solution. Water can add all sorts of particles and contaminants that can cause problems with your lenses and your eyes.

  5. solution, never use water. there are too many chemcials in our tap water now days and it is enough to get you an infection and dry out or scratch your lens.  Always use solution and was your hands.  An eye infection can last for as much as a week.  You would have to wear your glasses if that happens.
