Do you run faster in shorts or pants?

I have a practice today for track and feild and I want to know if you really do run faster in shorts,many people say that since the have no sleeves going all the way to the bottom they dont get in your way or are lighter

  1. You will run faster in shorts than in pants as shorts are lighter and less confining. The more clothing you wear, the more useless weight you have. The difference will probably be subtle, but every fraction of a second counts, right?:)


  2. i would say you run faster in shorts and either short sleeves or no sleeves.

    But I'd say shorts for both to avoid confusion :).
