  1. most people wouldnt really think of that when it comes to handling a grocery cart. they usually donnt want to be there shopping in the first pllace so they will just grab what they need and leave. although, people in other countries must clean everything that they touch to prevent diseases.

  2. No. Human bodies are designed to handle a certain amount of bacteria. People who sanitize everything they touch actually get sick more often, not less. Because their bodies aren't being exposed to any kind of bacteria, they're immune system is actually more vulnerable. Certain kinds of healthy bacteria are disappearing from human bodies, leading to skin and digestive problems. Children who are not exposed to dirt and bacteria are much more likely to develop serious allergies and childhood illnesses, because their immune systems aren't developing correctly.

So do I sanitize grocery cart handles? No. And I'll tell you what- I can't remember the last time I caught a cold.

  3. h**l no thats stupid its a psycological act.

  4. My grocery store has little wipes put around the store. I sanitize the handle before I start shopping, and then I always sanitize my hands after I select whatever meat I'm buying, just to be safe.

I used to work at a grocery store and the only way I could avoid getting sick is sanitizing the checkstand during slow periods. I would wipe the moving belt, then use clorox wipes on the computer keyboard, scanner, and credit card machine buttons.

Some coworkers made fun of me for being paranoid, but I rarely got sick. The one thing that people always have to do, no matter how sick they are, is go to the store. You have to buy dinner or medicine or toilet paper or whatever.

Every sick person on the planet comes through grocery stores. I think you would be crazy not to sanitize the handle.

Someone above said that you need bacteria in your environment to develop immunity and that is true...but think of everywhere else you are getting that. breathing air, opening doors...there is not shortage of pathogens. And if you saw what happens to those grocery carts and the grocery conveyor belts...

I once had a woman change her babies diaper right on my checkstand (eeeew), and kids throw up in the carts, raw meat drips all over the carts (where you put your vegetables btw)

People come into the store with every disease known to mankind to get medicine and they snot all over the carts and all over the money, and cough and sneeze...its just gross. If you only knew who's fecal-covered fingers had been touching all your produce and your grocery cart...

    Eeeew.

I sanitize my cart always and I'm rarely sick

  5. sanitizer lotions kill the weak bad bacteria and this leaves the stronger  bad bacteria to grow many times more.

some people may be allergic to the santizer that you used on the handles

ofcourse everything thats not in bag/box nedds to washed throughly included nuts and meat

if the store you go to does not clean and disinfect the trolley twice a day, then it's good idea to wipe the handle using soaped towelettes (like those at KFC) that way yo don't have the problem listed above,
