  1. They are really interchangeable these days but:

    I use supper for the everyday meals

      

             and

    I use dinner for the more formal times like when we have guests or on holidays, etc.


  2. We say dinner for the meal about 6:00 pm (also called tea), and supper is a snack before bed.

  3. depends on what time I am eating. I eat four meals a day.

    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Supper.

  5. Around here Dinner is the largest meal of the day. If you eat dinner at noon then you have supper at night. If you have dinner at night then it was lunch at noon.

    but my grandparents ( who live in the north) say supper

  10. In our home, the last (evening) meal is dinner, unless it is on Sunday or a holiday when we might eat early, then dinner would be the main meal and we might have supper ( a small meal) later on.  Sprechen se Duetch?

    I actually say both.  For some strange reason, I tend to say dinner if we eat earlier and supper if we eat later.... I dont know why, I jsut do

  20. Lunch is at noontime, and supper is in the evening. But "dinner" is a large more formal meal, whether it is served at noon or in the evening.
