  7. i say dinner. i think dinner used to be(or maybe still is) a southern term to describe an afternoon meal, whereas supper is the evening meal.

    some ppl eat their supper/dinner at lunchtime and have a lighter meal for supper/dinner time as we know it. -like soup and sandwich, or egg and chips(fries)....beans on toast....

    but for lunch..they will have an actual supper(roast beef, yorkshire pudding etc)
