I say passing, and hitting. The other two seem outdated, and I don't hear many people say them anymore.

  1. I personally say passing and hitting...though you can find me slip up and say spiking also.

I know what you mean about bumping sounding outdated...i does! haha

I have never heard anyone at my school say bumping...but everyone says the other three.

  2. i say all four, but it justs depends on were i am, and if im playing or not. but i say all four of them.

  3. I say passing and hitting.

  4. I agree with you. They are older terms and I mainly hear "passing" and "hitting" nowadays. Sometimes I find people don't know what "hitting" is and don't know what Imean by passing so I do use "spiking" sometimes so they know what I mean.

  5. i say passing but a lot of ppl at my skool say bumping it just sounds weird to me...but i'll say spiking or hitting

  6. Usually "passing" and "hitting".... But there's always the "Bump! Set! Spike!" cheer that people do for our high school games...

  7. The most proper way to address it is to say passing and hitting and setting. The hitter can spike it, although I've heard some people say smash. The passers dig and pass and volley, and the setters set and drop. I usually say spike though.

  8. i say bumping and spiking...sometimes i hear hitting but i dot hear passing much...

  9. I say grinding.

  10. I say passing and hitting.  I can't remember the last time I've heard someone say spiking.  However, I do hear coaches say bumping to distinguish for little kids the difference between a underhand pass (bump) and a over hand pass (set).

  11. I pick passing, and hitting.

  12. bumping and passing
