  1. I don't even buy them, except for the class photo.  Don't we all have a gabillion pictures of our kids anyway? Do you really see a difference in quality between the ones you take and the ones you pay a lot of money for from the school? It might have made sense before the ubiquity of digital cameras, but I don't think it makes sense now.

  2. No we don't do that.  It's against copyright laws.

  3. I sure do!! Too expensive!!! But to be honesty when they are reasonably priced I purchase them from the school.

  4. oh my goodness, I can't believe I never thought of that!  with technology today all I should do is order the class picture and the least amount of pictures and I am set!  thanks for the inspiration!

  5. Good Idea I never even thought of that!!!

  6. Every chance I get.  Unfortunately, a lot of companies are now making you PREpay for the pictures.   However, I buy the cheapest package then take them to my local CVS and make copies in all sizes for my friends and family.  It's still cheaper.  :)

  7. yep thats what i did

  8. It is considered illegal, but I have to admit i'd do it to! No one would know..

  9. I would if they sent home school pictures first, but now you have to prepay which I find ridiculous - because what if you don't like the pictures? Sure, they offer a full refund if you are unhappy with them but it takes a while to get it (up to six weeks usually) and those of us living paycheck to paycheck can't always wait.

I'd love it of they sent the pictures home first because I would totally scan them and print my own. Sadly, it doesn't work that way here.

  10. talk about it yes they have gotten expensize

  11. i always buy the sheet of plastic key chain pics and all that  but then i make copies for the rest, i dont mind paying a little bit for my kids  pics, but the prices they want is ridiulous.

  12. The way I look at it the photo companies have to make money as well so no I do not.  However,  I buy the smallest package and mostly pay a lot of money to have pictures taken in a photography studio.  Copying the pictures is illegal and not something that I would want my child to know that I was doing. If it is that difficult to pay for them perhaps you could ask the grandparents to chip in.

  13. Uh, no, I don't, because it's ILLEGAL!

  14. No, I go to Sears or Walmart for less expensive pictures, but we also get the school packages. We get just enough for us, grandparents, and aunts/ uncles.

Scanning them is stealing, those are copy-righted.

  15. sometimes, depends what they look like. In our grade school they take them twice a year. I dont buy the first ones, and the end of the year they send them home before you buy.
