  1. I don't like it when a waitress expects a tip. Tipping anything is optional, I work hard for my money too and I only tip when the service is exceptional, not everytime. When I do tip it's a decent amount. I think you should be happy with any tip at all, instead of complaining that some people tip less than 10%. some people don't have a lot of money and the price of eating out is expensive enough.

  2. Yup! :) I actually was a waitress too at Pizza Hut for 2 years. With any restaurant, a lot of the times it is all about location. I helped out other pizza hut's in the franchise I was in and I noticed the one that was in not the nicest area, I received the lowest tips.

  3. I don't tip there because I only get take out. If I ate inside and got waited on, I would tip just like at any other restaurant.

  4. No, I really dont see it as a real restaurant.  Its been years since I got anything from Pizza the Hutt, and if I did, I'd be ordering it for delivery.  That being said though, if I did find myself eating in one, I would tip reasonably, based on the service provided- so likely in the 15 - 20% range.

  5. I don't think it's a real restaurant because when you walk in, you order your food at the counter, like at a McDonalds. You can either wait by the counter and take your food to your table, or you can sit down and someone will bring it to you. However, since when your food is done, they call a number to obligate you to get up and get it yourself, I don't believe tipping is appropriate.

  6. i always tip at pizza hut.i like having my drink refilled.

  7. No, In my opinion delivery pizza places can be considered fast food.  However, it isn't the service as much as it is the quality of the food that needs to be considered.  Sure, most people love a greasy, pizza with processed cheese and pepperoni, and top it off with cheese sticks and a sugar filled soda.  But those ingredients aren't healthy or good in my opinion.  I feel that any "chain" is fast food....It's all the same, and highly processed.  Those gullible people who will no doubt argue with my comment obviously have not done any research into the food industry.

  8. a waitress who brings drinks takes the orders does refills, asks how the food is and if everything is ok and brings the check ought to get a tip it is waitressing.

  9. this  is funny. you get tipped by service and restaurant atmosphere. I wouldn't go into a fine dining place and tip little, but I wouldn't tip a pizza hut waitress 25% either. You confuse waiting w/ being a brain surgeon. It's refills and pizza making. My first job was one much like yours, but I didn't have such gall to demand people tip me because "I"m a waitress". No you're not. You're a server, and that's it. If you want waitress tips, do the waitress job in an actual restaurant. Do the real work, get the real tips.

  10. ANYWHERE i sit down and have someone take my order and bring it out to me is a 'restaurant'.

Slight exception would be at a buffett resytaurant where I get up and serve my own food.  IF there is a server to bring beverages or other parts of the meal I would lower the tip % amount as they aren't taking my order, ensuring it is accurate, and delivering it to me.

IF there is only someone to seat me and all else is self-serve, then I wouldn't leave a tip as I had no "waiter/waitress" to serve me.

IMO, tipping for expected/adequate service is 20% - - more if the service was excellent, less if the service wasn't very good.

I am sorry you are encountering such rude people.

  11. Yeah it is! In high school Pizza Hut was my first paying job.  Just for the record, with the way things are now, I don't even think 20% is enough anymore.  People should be tipping 25%...

  12. i always tip at Pizza hut.  if it is a sit down restaurant and a server comes to your table to provide service during your visit there then you should tip.

  13. nope don't see.

    Get a job a walmart.

  14. Depends if the buffet  and they are serving themselves? You only bring them drinks..

    Sonic is same way.?

Mcdonalds doesnt expect a tip  donthink people should a tip jar out for subway etc......

Not sure whats in our town but switch jobs...

  15. YEA I love that resturant!! My sister works as a waitress also! She once served this family of 7 and their bill was like $70.00 and they gave her a $4.00 tip! Its definatley not fair to get less than at least a 10% tip! People should tip even for the buffet!

  16. lame

  17. Of course its a REAL RESTAURANT.  It is not optional. And yes you should get another job. If you want to work as a server thats fine. If you want to make more money as a server look for a place where the customers make more money. If they make more they will spend more and a bigger check means a bigger tip. Try a place like Appleby's or some other place to get some semi fine dining experience then move on from there.

  18. I do. Of course it's a real restaurant.

You should get 10% tip. That's totally unfair. :-|
