Question:

Do you see anyway for the problems in Haiti to be solved?

With a growing food crisis, powered by bureaucratic red tape keeping foreign aid form getting into the people who need it and an agricultural industry that cannot even sustain itself. Add that to the seemingly constant barrage of tropical systems that ruins crops before the harvest.

And not to mention the constant lose of life and property from those storms.

These, along with poor health care and education are feeding poverty in the country and it seems that anytime steps are made in the right direction, they take 3 steps back. Do you see anyway for the problems facing Haiti to be solved? If so, how?

  1. There is so much corruption there that I can't foresee any solution in the near future.  Its a shame.  The people are so nice and the island is fantastic.  It has been corrupted so long and Papa Doc and then Baby Doc just added to the already poverty stricken island.  Very tragic.  It would be great if suddenly oil was found there and then maybe eyes would be on it and improvement made for the people.  But I don't think that will happen anytime soon.  We can just make baby steps there by sending helpers to build homes and schools for as many people as we can and aid when they need it.  It is basically ignored by the other countries.  I wish I had a more substantive answer for you.
