  1. I think of a ship and nature as as female, for instance, "Mother Nature." Just because people speak of them in that way. The only one I think of as male is God, because God is referred to as "he." I see the rest as having no gender except a horse, which could be male or female.

  2. gender neutral except for the horse.

  3. Well, a horse is either a mare (female) or a stallion or a gelding (male).  Your country may be your mother country or your fatherland depending on which country you live in.

Various different cultures have attribted gender to earth,, moon, sun and sky.  in classical mythology for instance the moon is female and the sun male.  in Egyptian mythology the earth is male, the sky female, and the sun and moon both male.  In Japanese religion, the sun is female, the moon male.  Personally, I see all those things as genderless.

God, according to the Judaeo-Christina tradition, is male.  if you are a Hindu, there are a multitude of gods and goddesses to choose from.  It all depend on your point of view.

ships are traditionally refered to as 'she' in England, but I can never think of them as female, and I certainly can't see a car as having any gender, nor a rocket or a space station.  and my home is just my home, no gender.

  4. Ship-F (Don't ships normally have female names?)

Car-F  (She's got some grunt, the old beast, hey?)

Horse-M (keep thinking of that dang talking horse, Ed?)

My Nation-F (an ancient, wise Aboriginal woman with scars and experience. Australia)

God-M (Think of God as a friendly father figure)

Nature- F (Mother Nature with her wild ways)

    Earth- F (Mother Earth)

My home-M (it has alot of hard masculine lines, no feminine softness despite my decorating)

    A rocket-M (Phallic symbol)

Space station- F(a place similar to a womb)

The moon- F (round and mysterious, similar qualities women have)

Sun- Male(shines so brightly and projects alot of energy, similar to many men)

Sky- M (vast and all encompassing.  Not sure why male comes to mind for sky though)

  5. I see the words related to science and transport as male, and the nature words as female. I think that comes from the stereotypes of men being more logical and women being more nurturing.

My home is female, because I'm female and I live in it. :)

  6. EDIT:(the french have a M and F for each word but theres no logic to it,as i study french things you would assume to be feminine arnt-interesting isnt it)cultural context can change this answer

most people thoughts on this will be changed by how the MEDIA portraits certain things

    car-male

    hair-female

both M and F can have hair or a car but who we usually associate with can change..we see mostly men on TV with cars, advertising cars portraying strenght power and masculinity

hair products -an image of beauty radiance femininity, pretty and smells nice

the media plays on our fears.we need this car to be macho,we need this hair product to beautiful if you dont threes something wrong with you

my opinion on this is be your own person, take down your pre concieved notions and associations judge each person as you get to know them dont assume too much or categories people due to demographics too much

BTW i am a bit of a misogynist

    Ship M (NAVY)

    Car M

horse f mostly women are into horses i know

your nation f,the mothers are the back bone of Ireland-good aul mammy

    god - m,goddess would be F

    nature F mother

    the earth M

    your home M

    a rocket M

    a space station M

the moon M man on the moon

  10. Most are neither, although I have heard of them being described as female. They are simply a collection of nouns.
