You can draft a good player with great numbers, but you'll have to hope your team outscores your top QB or RB. You can have yards and TD's but that could also mean a loss for your team.

  1. i used to think about it- back before i gave up fanship of NFL teams altogether. there comes a point for most fantasy players where they have to choose between being a football fan (of an NFL team), or a fantasy football fan (fan of YOUR team). a lot of people work really hard to make themselves believe that as long as their favorite team wins, they can handle a fantasy loss. it's a psychological battle that you can tell they are losing even as they try to believe they are winning. to try to have it both ways sometimes requires hoping for ridiculously complex and impossible scenarios. to lift the burden, you're better off to quit trying to fool yourself and give in to fantasy football (which most are not willing to do). or quit playing fantasy football (which most are not willing to do).

are we heading toward the day 10 or 20 years from now when fans show up to an NFL game to root for a couple of players, maybe from both teams? can you imagine a percentage of the fans in a team's home stadium who groan every team the home team QB drops back to pass because they need RB rushing yards instead? we may be headed in that direction.
