  1. Only if the food is burning my mouth!    Otherwise, I am rarely in that kind of RUSH that I have to chew and drink at the same time!   Slow down!   Enjoy the seperate flavors of both!

  2. my grandfather does that. it grosses me ouuttt.  i don't see what the huge problem is .  it all goes in and then out,  why not mix it together.

if this helps any i mix brownies and sour cream & onion chips together.      but i would say there the weird ones.....

  3. well not professionally

  4. No I do not.  I chew and swallow my food then I take my sips or gulps.  I do not want anybody to see what I was eating inside of my cup or glass.

  5. NO  i sip my drink when all food is out of my mouth.

  6. 1. My mother always admonished me for doing so and I have since refrained and it is not the most pleasant activity for me to view.

    2. It is not "disgusting".

    3. It does not allow the digestive process to properly initiate before sending the food downward, hence not the most healthy practice.

    4. In the USA the Carls Junior food commercials are desgned to be obnoxious and they do feature actors who drink while chewing.

You might take all of the above and come to your own conclusion.

    Cheers!!

  7. Unless you are having trouble swallowing, this is in poor taste - I'm not sure I go so far as disgusting.  Slowing down and chewing exclusively will help with digestion, too.

  8. i do sometimes its no big deal haha

most people do it i mean for real i agree dont

choke ur food down haha who cares!

  9. There's nothing wrong with it, but I dont like to do it because it makes the good food in my mouth taste like ****.

  10. Yes, I drink (sip) while I eat too!

    She's the weird one . . . . . .

  11. Well I personaly dont do that either.

It does seem kind of nasty.

    But thats just me.

  12. hey.. as long as you dont backwash...lol

  13. I don't do it personally, don't like it

  14. You are not weird, however, it is not healthy to drink too much when you eat... the liquid dilutes your stomach's acid, which can later lead to digestive problems.

I would say it's only gross-looking when someone else can see the food inside your mouth (as when you open to take a sip of liquid) before you completely swallow your food.

Everyone eats differently.  (I was completely shocked when I witnessed a friend of mine eating mac and cheese-- she doesn't chew the noodles; she simply swallows them!) You are probably not doing anything disgusting, however, if you are concerned about your dining etiquette wait until you've swallowed all your food to take a drink.  This way, you won't even risk the smallest offense.

  15. It might be weird.  Think about a person putting in another bite before they are done chewing the first.  That would be gross, and this seems like you are trying to eat too fast, too.

But they are ruder for correcting you the way they did.  They could have put it in a polite way, like "that's not considered proper etiquitte" instead of calling you disgusting.

  16. That is kinda gross

cuz ur food from ur mouth could go into ur drink

and it's polite to finish chewing b4 you get a drink.

  17. If you needed a sip of your drink, what did they expect you to do?? Choke the food down? I wouldn't worry about it. lol

  18. I never drink while I have food in my mouth. Just the idea of it makes me disgusted.

    To each their own.

  19. whatever floats your boat you know what i mean

  20. Of course you sip your drink while chewing your food.

How, for example, would it be possible to eat pancakes if you couldn't sip your coffee while eating them???

    Silly friend you have there.

  21. theyre stupid! i do it all the time! lol

  22. No, lots of people (and food critics) do this all the time. Best way to keep your mouth from getting scorched as well!  I do this especially when I have a food pairing with certain kinds of beers and  wines.

  23. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you are not showing them your food. Soemtiems food is dry and you need that extra liquid to help it go down!

  24. You are the wierd one.

I also think it is gross when people do that.

Do you have any health issues where you do not produce enough saliva to wet your food enough to chew and swallow it?

Some people, mostly with diabetes, get very dry mouths and cannot chew and swallow without taking a sip.

If you do have dry mouth issues, there are a miriad of products out there to help, like special toothpastes and mouth sprays.

    Good luck!

  25. That's just weird. Eat your food without getting some of it in your drink!

  26. Everyone is different.  I do not sip my drink while chewing my food.  That is what works best for me.
