That is how I know I'm going down hill....non stop crying, and when I'm not crying, I can't seem to get enough sleep.

  1. .The crying and sleeping you describe are classic symptoms of depression. I know because I've been there. Please see a doctor and be kind to yourself. Try to do one thing like shopping or seeing a friend (just a brief visit) every day, even if you don't feel like it. Isolating yourself and neglecting ordinary activities can lead to deeper depression It may seem like you will never get out of the way you feel today, but people can and do overcome depression. Better times are ahead.

  2. i spent the better part of a month in bed and not eating when my dad died. you lose the ambition to do normal everyday things, even the things you love to do or be with become less important. i not only lost my dad but drove away the love of my life. get to a doctor and tell him how you feel.

  3. Yes I used to do that.  I am now on medication and do not cry much if at all and sleep more normally.

  4. Hi-

Go to the doctor as soon as possible.

The earlier caught, and treated, the more easier the depression will be.

Ive been in the same position plenty of times, most times not know what it was. I slept for 15 hours at a time, and still waking up tired. I felt the need to always close my eyes (during meetings at work, while driving, eating..etc.) It was a very scary feeling. There medications that will control this horrible feeling.

Ones to try are: Paxil, Lexapro, prozac and Wellbutrin.

In the meanwhile before you get to the doctor, try and keep yourself occupied so you dont sleep...even if it is just a trip to the mall to walk around and window shop...do anything to keep you away from your bed. If you cant drive, ask for a ride, as driving while being depressed is very dangerous.

Good Luck and feel better soon.

  5. Most people sleep a lot when they're depressed.  Right before my senior year of college, I was so depressed I couldn't get out of bed for weeks.  I missed weeks of classes and had to take a semester off, and do the "five-year plan."  But there is also a rarer kind called atypical depression where the sufferer can't sleep and eats non-stop.

  6. yes i sleep all the time when im depressed. if i have any moment of free time where my mind is not occupied with something else while im depressed then i go to sleep and will stay asleep for hours, its kind of like an escape, probably not the best way to cope but it works for me.

  7. Yes. You are overcome with fatigue and sleep a lot.

  8. Step 1: Ensure your emotion is controlled daily. Don't over reacted, stay calm and don't get worry easily

Step 2: Think before your action. Don't repeat her past experience on herself. Remind herself from time to time.

Step 3: Be confident to yourselves. Remember everyone is the winner. "Only One sperms out of millions fertilize an egg"

Step 4: Get a group of close friends to share your experience and get some activities that would occupied your time

Step 5: Increase scope of life. Meaning that she should involve in more social activities like dancing, outing and others.

Step 6: Put a rubberband on the wrist. If there is a negative thought, Tighten the rubber band and release it. Hence the effect of the pain would be able to reduce the possibility of negative thought.

    Good Luck.
