MY OWN BUSINESS

I’m talking to you, dipshiit!”

Well, I was surely taken aback

by such an introduction. I had no

idea what the man was talking about.

“Don’t just stand there,

the cameras are rolling!”

I looked around to see if I had somehow

missed the sign reading STAGE DOOR.

Honestly, I was simply trying

to cash in my chips.

The man then grabbed me by the shirt

and flung me onto the main stage.

I was not ready with stand-up, so I tried

for some slapstick…and the crowd went WILD!

Sometimes just the confused, hunted, haunted look on our face is incredibly funny. It took Woody Allen a long way before he even said a single word!

I am happy to just let this flow through me. Trying to interpret it is of absolutelty no use whatsoever. Sometimes ya gotta go with the vibe. That is one cool "performance" poem.
