This is just the horse farm(Willow Acres in Kentucky) I used to board my horse there but i left the other month and you'll see why...

1.Mud

2.Very small pens with mud

3.Chicken Wire that bends for fencing

4.Dogs running around chasing horses

5.Getting cut by fences

6.boarding for $250 with no food,no care, leaving horse stalls messy for two weeks, etc.

7.25 horses in 2 acres with mud up to the horses knees

8.ETC.

Now do you think this is a good farm to board ur horse at? Please tell me!!

  1. Wow. Mud can't be controlled, where I work with horses our paddocks are really muddy at the moment, but that's what happens. If mud were the only problem that would be okay. But everything else, that's really bad! It is definitely not an appropriate place to board a horse, good on you for leaving, and I really think you should contact the animal organisations in your area for these reasons regarding your points:

    3. Chicken wire is not appropriate fencing for horses.

    4. Dogs should be under control at any equestrian facility.

5: Horses getting cut, that's definitely not on.

6: If they aren't caring for the horses, and stalls are left for 2 weeks, that is definitely abuse.

7: It should be 1 horse per acre. 25 for 2 acres is incredibly cruel. They'll be crowded and cramped, and that definitely qualifies as abuse.

Good on you for leaving. Try to encourage others to do the same, and report these people! They're charging a very large amount which obviously isn't used to benefit the horses in any way whatsoever.

  2. That is horrible, you were right to leave. I can't believe the other horse owners were still there. Dreadful.

  3. They shouldn't be alound to have a horse, let alone own a place for boarding if they treat the animals like that! You were right to leave!

  4. Duh! NO

You did the right thing if it is as you describe.

You might want to worm a horse coming from that environment.

  5. That's crappy boarding. You were right to leave there.

  6. actually I believe that borders on animal abuse,if its not.

  7. NOWAY!!!! get out of there! only people how are cruel to horses would put their horse there! where i keep my horse, its only £7 a week for the box, £5 a week for the field. but its more DIY but the farmer takes away the manure for his field( kinda like half th payment!)

  8. How are they getting that much for a place like that? Are they the only place around that boards horses? Around here, the SPCA would be investigating.

  9. Of course I would not leave my horse there! Those are terrible conditions, and if I wouldn't leave my family there, no way in the world would I leave my horses, and ponies there! Thank goodness you changed!

  10. I think this is bordering on animal cruelty. 8 years ago I bought 2 yearling fillies living in conditions like that. I got them to save them living like that. My vet said they could lose their horses after he examined the fillies. They were in terrible shape with mud balls as hard as rock clinging to their bodies. I sure think you did the right thing leaving. If they got reported and if your horse was there, you would have been held just as responsible as the owners. What a terrible place.

  11. no way it sucks you could report that its bad living conditions horrible and not fair on the horses you shouldnt have to pay a penny to board at that stable

if its really bad i would seriously report it

    hope i helped:)

  12. i would call the spca
