4. Not again!!! You repeating this question over and over, thats cruelty.

  5. well yes and no its good exercise for the horse but only as long as its not beign abused pushed too hard or made to run when its tired or sick then yes its cruel but if not then no its not cruel.......

    but thats just my opnion

  6. no just expensive,,

  7. No

  8. No.. Look at it like this...

If it was not for horse raceing. They would not be here in the first place.. They would not have been born (bred)

  9. no.

  10. they dont complain do they?

    lol

  11. Nope it is not.

Horse enjoys it. Otherwise it would fight back. Horse gets to eat good food, it gets to look good. Basically a horse is taken a good care of. And it gets in shape when it races or practices. And so it will live longer. Of course the bad side is if it got injured it could have been kick off of the races and the owner could have not wanted the horse. But that all depends on the owner then. It would be pretty cruel then if you just use the horse to win or race till it gets hurt.

  12. No it isn't, but horses can be subjected to cruelty and abuse by humans in other ways.

If you really want to make a noise go to:

    http://www.ilph.org

and see how horses can be helped worldwide.

Cruelty to horses to me is putting a horse in a bullring with a mad bull and even madder human.

Most thoroughbred racehorses lead pampered lives and racing is what they are bred for.

  13. NO, NO, NO and hmmm, NO

  14. i think that it can be somtimes cruel if they are abused but at its not the worst thing that can happen to animals... atleast they have somwhere to sleep and things to eat unlike the many strays

  15. No as long as they are properly looked after

  16. another Peta person you people are just ignorant

  17. no not really

  18. no if u galloping after a week a horse for 1000 meter and if u run fast the horse dialy 1000 r 1200meter then yes

  19. generally no, although some trainers can be. So it's really an individual case sort of thing. Horse racing is not intrinsically cruel, but when people become obsessive with it and start force-feeding and over-working the horses, and become abusive when they lose, that's when it's bad, (not to mention hurting the horse in order to fix the race), which is more a problem of animal cruelty in general than with the actual act of horse racing. Horses would technically be racing (running) alot anyway, whether or not they're having bets placed on them.

  20. no, only if ur pushing the horse too hard and not rewarding it for its hard work. my barrel horse LOVES it.

and ps- hollister cutie, the only reason barbaro died was cause he was too young and they just made one mistake, (yes mistakes to happen in life believe it or not) and they just kept pushing him and pushing him thinking he would make it but they just shouldve put him down to avoid all his pain... poor baby

  21. Nahh if anything it's good exercise for the horses.

  22. Absolutely NOT

  23. No.

    Horses love to run.

The only difference is that there's a rider on the back.

Horses hurt themselves jumping, barrel racing, pole bending, and grazing out in the pasture.

    It's not just racing.

Is it appropriate to assume that Olympic athletes are being treated cruelly because they train hard and get some broken bones, scrapes, and bruises?

No, we don't have to put them down.....and that IS one thing about the racing industry I don't like.

    BUT, same with show jumping.

    People don't consider that cruel.

Thoroughbreds are born to run.....it's their duty.

I'm going to be a racehorse trainer.....and my horses will NOT be started until they are 3 years old.

The young age could need some working on.

But all in all, it's not cruel.

  24. omg YES! it is terrible. i hate it i mean look at barbaro. if he wasnt racing, he never would have lost his life.

  25. No.!!!

    Sport of Kings.!!!

  26. ask the horse,,,dear,,,he will tell u
