  1. Hey what ever you feel comfortable with. You want to stand go for it.

  2. It depends on what type of "ceremony" it is.  Proper 'pomp' & "circumstance" demands certain types of things.  You should find out what type of "cermony" you will be going to and then do a bit of research.  Also...follow the crowd.  Most people do know the proper "etiquette and rules for when to sit and when to stand....and NEVER, ever lay down during any ceremony.  I know everyone was just joking but there was no humor in such a serious question.  When unsure...follow the crowd, unless of course you have a physical handicap.

    Peace & Love :)

  3. Next has it right! GIVE HER TEN POINTS!!!!

  4. Never stand when you can sit; never sit when you can lie down. Words to live by...

    EDIT: TY Dee!

  5. If I was at a restaurant  with a lady and a female(not the waitress) approached the table to speak to either or both of us,I'd stand up .

Or if I was going to a job interview and was asked to wait in the person's office, once that person entered the room,I'd stand and shake his/her hand and go from there.
