  1. I think it would depend on the direction you're going in when you start to walk.  Going straight ahead, I'd start with the right I suppose.

  2. I think right handed people start out with the left foot and left handed with the right .it's just the way it works. But in truth I've never really paid that much attention to which foot I start with.

  3. I would say, dont use this subject. There are too many variables that you have to take into consideration. What you should ask is "Is there a relationship between those who are right handed and their tendency to start walking with their right foot in the teenage population?" This way, you eliminate most of the variables. I would also say, avoid non-response bias by not asking about it on Yahoo! Answers. I would use a simple random sample and ask the people in you lunch room, or the people who walk into the building. That way, they are all teenagers, so you wont be bias there because it is your subject, and it will be random because every teen is supposed to go to school. As per your question, I do not believe there is any scientific explanation for it, but you could find out through this project.

Better idea: do an observational study, because after I read you question, I thought about which foot it was and ended up using the foot that I thought I started on. By doing an observational study, you can see what foot they start walking on, then you could ask them if they are right or left handed. This way, they wont think about it and they would not start out on a certain foot based on what they believe they do. Good luck with your project.

  4. I start everything with my right foot because it is my dominant foot. The reason i know that is because im a dancer, and when i dance i can feel that my right leg and foot are stronger than my left, therefore i have more control over my right side, and always use it to walk, kick a ball, everything!

  5. right

my walk is like an akward walk...i dont like the way i walk

it feels weird walking with left first....

    its akward

its like that genetic thing...-put ur hand in a praying position-

is ur right or left thumb on top?

    everyone is different/....its genetic

  6. When I stand up and then start walking, I use whatever foot gets out from the chair first, which is determined by which side of the chair i get out of. If I'm already standing, I usually start with the hand I write with, my right.

Everyone I know does the same thing. I think its just a random thing. I don't think it has anything to do with science.

    Glad to help!!!!

  7. It will be related to the leg you are used to stand on when stationary. You start walking with the other leg. What supporting leg people use when they stand depends on whether they are left handed or right handed.

  8. I start out on my right foot... probably because im right handed, so it is just natural to start walking with my right foot.

  9. i have no idea. i honestly have never thought about it.

  10. If I'm standing still, I'll start out with my right food, probably because I'm right handed.  I have started on my left foot if I'm making a sudden left turn, but generally I start on my right.

  11. Say I usually start out with my Right.

I ride a skateboard pushing with my right to so it makes sense.

Also well yeah the right foot gives me more of a starting push you know?

  12. right because i am right handed
