  1. Yep :) Im so old school. But i have a cell too

  2. yes i do as i like my telephone companies dsl as i have home networking through them and I like my tv service which is through the phone company.  also i like accessing my email on the tv and tv call display.  you cant get this through the cable company. and you need a phone line for these services.    my phone tv and internet company is mts in manitoba.

  3. Yes, we still have our land-line, We have discussed dropping the service, but she is not quite ready to let go of the chord.

BTW, I have always wanted one of those old style crank phones...They will still work in an emergency, but the cranking goes to the operator.

It can also be used to "fish" and as my grandfather used it, to make a "hot-seat" with the toilet....

There is a wonderful family story that goes with that little bit of information...

  4. Yes, but i get it free through my retirement.  But for long distance, I use a cell.

  5. I still have a house phone because our internet service comes with the phone service so it is a package deal.  Plus, sometimes our cell phone service is not good inside our house.  I hate having to pay two phone bills, but it's nice for the convenience.  I don't call long distance on my house phone.  That is something I only use my cell phone for because I have free long distance.

  6. Yes along with a cell phone. The landline is so much better, it doesn't drop calls or produce static. It's amazing what people will tolerate for convenience.

Another plus -- no spam calls.

  7. for my fax machine

  8. If you would like a broadband phone line that doesn't have a monthly phone bill, I would recommend you buy a magic Jack for $39.99 and you wont have another phone bill until 1 year later for $19.99 and every year after is only 19.99

I bought it after listening to the voice quality and could detect no difference from my verizon phone line. I plug my regular analog phone in and I can call anywhere in The US and Canada free and I sent two to my friends in Australia and Germany and I talk to them free also.

I bought it at www.KingDirect.com and got it in three days here' a link:
