Like a dog

scratching at fleas

the heart knows

infestation

the taped message of

lies told

yet believed

becomes your truth

it plays over

and over again

the voice reminds you

of worthlessness

and shame

you did nothing to own

that innocent child

now adult

still scratching the

infestation.

  1. Wow, now I am sad.  Thanks!

  2. Yes ... I suffer horribly from Burrowing  Cotton Candy Brain Worms .... all the colors gets me confused.

  3. No, I don't suffer from infestation.

Another nice poem (though you might want to separate stanzas , as it's awkward between the lines "you did nothing to own" and "that innocent child").

  4. It never completely

    goes away

    it removes itself unpredictably

    almost fades away

    but always

    always

    returns

whether a rainy or a cloudy or a sunny day

    then thoughts return

    yes the same ones immediately

    how to RID that infestation

    once and for all

    before you turn too gray.

  8. No.  The Cat does not nor will ever have fleas.  his humans strictly forbid them in The Cats house.  His human does not suffer from the infestation you refer to either.

  9. I interpret this as one who has been left behind as a child but still looks for the hope in lies told long ago.  It is sad they can not move on but need to do just that.  Well done and hope I have read it correctly.

  10. No Mam, I own those no longer. And refuse to accept new cooties! peace

  11. I like that you use dogs in your poetry.

It shows you have class & taste!

The infestation & scratching went away once I started to use the ointment the doctor gave me.

  12. ya, I think I do. dang dong fleas biting me all over the place. Dang it all. LMAO

  13. As a matter of fact, I'm

    not.  I grew to understand

life, with its twists and turns.

I put a rest to the itch.

  14. Wow that was beautifully written. I see the message that you are conveying.
