  1. As usual with Scittish Labour, they cannot think of anything original - that is why they were kicked out of power in May 2007.

The SNP government pledged in their manifesto to bring a Bill to the Scottish Parliament within three years for authority to hold a referendum. When they raised this in the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish Labour Party said they would oppose the proposal.

That leaves Wendy Alexander somewhat isolated.

You should not believe everything you hear or see on the English-dominated and English-biased BBC. The BBC have few friends in Scotland.

  2. I would not take an credability from Wendy Alexander's mutterings. She only just escaped punishment earlier this year about political donations. Her days as Labour leader in Scotland are numbered. Her gaff about supporting the SNP's idea for a referendum will only hasten her departure.

  3. If the Scots want to be independent, then let them get on with it. But it has to be complete independence, which means raising their own revenue; not receiving handouts from London; negotiating their own trade treaties with other countries - in short, standing on their own feet. I don't want to be associated with anyone who doesn't want my company, so that's why I say, "Go ahead and do it."  One last thing, though - I notice that they didn't want independence until their country was up, running, and fully functional.
