up to full term, like they do in Canada? If not, what right do you have to tell someone else what to do with their body?

  1. "what right do you have to tell someone what to do with their body"

Seriously, what right does the mother have to decide whether or not the child lives or dies?

Another thing, what about the dad? What if he wanted to keep the child, but ohhhhh, too bad johnny, jane doesn't want the baby, she killed it. Guess you'd better try again at having a kid.

IMO it should be reserved for medical complications and raped pregnancies, not personal convenience.

Seriously, abortion debate is total folly.

  2. It is a woman's choice for sure but leaving it until the last minute smacks of cruelty. It has been scientifically proven that late term abortions cause the unborn baby agony.

  3. No, that's taking it too far.  I'm not telling them what to do with their body - I just think they ought to make up their mind what to do with their body sooner than 8 months in or somesuch.  And generally, they do.

  4. Only if the baby could not live outside a women's body.  Why - you need to make up your mind before this happens.  There is no reason why - you can't choose before the baby is to for along.

  5. No, of course I don't. Even most pro-choicers don't agree with abortion into the third trimester, except in severe medical cases. Once a fetus is viable, it's a human being in the eyes of the law, and it should have equal rights (I personally believe this to be true from conception.) There's a reason that the mother and the baby have separate blood supplies; because they are two distinct humans. The only time I agree with late term abortions is if the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother. What right does a woman have to take another human life, whether it's in her body or not?

And we have a right to an opinion because we live in a democracy.

  6. Yes, in the first few months.

    Especially if they're a teenager.

If they don't want the baby, it's just going to ruin BOTH of their lives.  Are people against abortion saying that it's better that both the mother and child become miserable?

    Also, what about rape?

Seriously, women should have the right to do what they want.

  7. totally. its the womens choice wether or not she wants an abortion in her personal situation.

everyone please help me out here...

  8. If it's rape, then the women has a right to abort.  If they willingly took part in such, they shouldn't abort.  But honestly, blame needs to be placed on the man, as well, if they didn't want the child.

  9. No having an abortion is killing a baby. No matter what the inconvenience it may cause you it does not give you the right to kill.

  10. Up to full term?  No, because at that point it can survive outside the mother's body, and she's had 6+ months to figure out she didn't want the kid.  When it's a little zygot/bundle of cells/etc I could care less what she does with it.

  11. Absolutely.  It's their decision.

  12. Well, in Canada third term abortions are generally performed only in extreme situations.

Here's an interesting quote from Wikipedia:

"Third-trimester abortions are not generally available. For instance, in Quebec, there is currently no doctor who will perform a third-term abortion unless the health of the woman is in great peril or there is a genetic disorder. Currently the province sends women who seek to have third-term abortions performed to the United States. "

So apparently it's easier to get a late abortion in the US than in Canada.

Oh, and yes I do support Canada's abortion policies.  I don't think I have any right to tell a pregnant woman what to do with her body.

  13. i do support the women to choose as they like, but my concerns are with these abortions, there very dangerous, and a women getting an abortion 9 months is just insane they new they were pregnant they should hv gotten the baby aborted before they even got that far in the pregnancy, but im not goona get all crazy in this, im sure other people will.

  14. I've had one.

    I regret it painfully everyday.

    I'm pro-choice, so yes.

Anything prior to gestation. After that which is around 4-5 months that is disgusting. 9 months in Canada! I didn't know that someone would allow you to do that legally. That is sick and irresponsible. Learn something new everyday.

  15. Yea I would support it because some girls who are on drugs dont need to be having babies.

  16. I support the right for all people to do whatever they want if they don't hurt someone else.   The problem is clearly that some think a baby still inside the womb is a piece of the woman's body, like an arm or a leg, or perhaps a wart?

Some of us believe it is a real human being with a heart that beats and a soul.   If you are absolutely sure this isn't true and you can stand before God blameless some day, then do what you please.   We all answer to God someday.   As for me, I believe this is a real human being made by God, loved by God and protected by God.   God will judge us all someday.   Beware.  We all make our own choices, and we all answer for them.

  17. Not to full term, only when the baby isn't developed enough to survive outside the body.

I say this because when the baby can survive outside the body(like if it was born prematurely it could survive) it's a human.

  18. I support 1st and 2nd trimester abortions, but barring certain medical emergencies I would have a hard time supporting 3rd trimester abortions. I certainly wouldn't prevent anyone from doing it I just wouldn't choose it for myself or support it.

  19. To me, I don't give a c**p. there are plenty more important things than arguing over something as trivial as that. It's their choice whether or not they choose to abort. And to those saying "you should have protected" BAH! some women were raped you know? It's their choice whether they choose to have the baby or not. And there are enough kids up for adoption, so save that baby the sadness of knowing it was abandoned.

  20. Absolutely not.  And to answer the second question, i don't really have a right.  But there is someone that does, and He's the one that said something along the lines of 'all life is sacred.'  Who was that guy again....  O yea GOD SAID THAT.  So yea i think i'll side with God on this issue :)

  21. i would not abort up to when its a big baby, but i dont have the right to tell them what to do with their body. who wants to be born in this horrible world anyway?

  22. think about the second question you asked.. "what right to you have to tell someone what to do with their body?"

what right do YOU have to MURDER a completly defenseless child??

In my opinion, abortion is ok under certain circumstancs. If there is a serious health threat to the mother, then I agree with it. I also believe rape victims should be able to make their own decision. but we all know there are many women out there who are very careless about using protection, wind up pregnant, and then abort thier baby. I think its disgusting if you ask me.

  23. I'm with you! I wouldn't do it if it was relatively close to the time of birth, but hey, I just won't do it. If another woman wants to, go for it.

  24. I understand that a woman should be allowed to do what she wants with her body. The problem is that I have a hard time defining what her "body" is. Like I used to be pro-choice but I realized that once the sperm hits the egg that creation has the potential for life. I believe that anything that has potential for life should not be tampered with. The potential is there, and we are not even sure when "life" starts are we? Also, at one point that baby is a seperate body, part of the woman's body, but seperate as well. Also, I can do anything that I want with my body right? Then why is suicide illegal?

  25. I don't have the right to tell a woman what to do with her body, but we shouldn't be letting her destroy another's body, which is exactly what abortion is.

If a fetus is part of the mother's body, then I'm just a part of my mom's body walking around right now.

  26. NO. A baby's heart is beating even before you know you're pregnant. That means that it is LIFE. Killing life is taking away another little person who might have had good ideas and intentions and solved some of our problems. Within each person is many opportunities.

  27. i dont have the right to tell anyone what to to do..but i do have the right to express my opinions...n i want to express that  fact exactly...what right does the mother have on the babies body? NONE AT ALL! an unborn child doesnt belong to the mother...it has its own body! it is just temporarily inside of the mother! no one belongs to any one on this earth...that is a life whether it is a small cell or not its still a sign of life....n what right does anyone have to take another persons life? u were once inside ur mother...would u like if she had taken away ur life? without u knowing?...only God has the power to give and take life...Not U, Not Sum Serial Killer, N Certainly not The Government.

N for those of u who speak of raped women...i was once raped too...n being raped isnt an excuse to kill...the faul of the raped shouldnt be dragged onto the the baby....that is innocent and pure minded....the baby did not rape the women n if you dont want the baby give away for adoption the baby still deserves to live jus like YOU have been given the chance to live!

  28. I think the mother in labor of a full term 10 pounder should be able to still make her choice.

Mom in labor of full term 10 pounder at the hospital: "Hey, doc, on second thought, make that an abortion."

Doc: "Whatever you say, mom.  You're the customer!"

  29. Abortion(for the right reasons),such as to save mother's life.,rape victims etc. But not partial birth abortion. The abortion would have to be done right away.(Not when it is a baby)

  30. I believe its wrong, but when it all comes down to it its the womans right. But I do beleive there should be some kind of punishment.

  31. After hearing my son's heartbeat when he was only about 9 weeks old, it blew my mind.  I could never have another abortion but I am pro-choice.  There are many different reasons and situation why women choose to have abortions. Women have terminations for all sorts or reasons, some justifiable some perhaps not so justifiable.  I firmly believe that a termination/abortion should be a decision that is made by a couple, together.  I do not agree that one party should have the upper hand in making the decision but unfortunately that is the way it goes.  I would hate , if the roles were reversed, for a man to be able to terminate a pregnancy without any thought to me.  I do however have a problem with terminating a child (because thats what they are) at full term.  My son was born at 37 weeks, I cannot imagine anything more horrendous than aborting a baby at this age - its plain and simple murder.
