  1. The states should help the refugees. Limit immigrating  by economy .

  2. Not at all. There is a lot of evidence that open borders to immigration is good for the economy. The best resource on immigration is Lant Pritchett and the Centre for Global Development's "Let Their People Come". (1) Most of the evidence says that, first the poor from poor countries would benefit, then the businesses they employ, then other locals because the businesses reinvest their savings and create jobs locals can take. Unskilled and maybe other workers would lose some of their wages but the overall gains to the economy would probably outweigh them in the long term.

The strange thing is that many of the people who are against American businesses shipping their manufacturing overseas are the same ones against immigration. The simple truth is, the less immigration there is, the higher wages will be. Companies want to pay their workers lower wages and a lot of poor, capable people in other countries want the jobs. If there were more immigration, wages would go down at first, but in the long term they would probably even out. If economic growth is our goal, open borders should be the priority.

  3. Sorry, too high. The bourgeois here do not even know how to help the people that already live here.
