I against it, instead of try to clone their beloved dead pet, they could save their money adopt many needed pet in the shelter; who die by thousands by day.

  1. Cloning is wrong.

Who are we, as mankind, to play God?

  2. I agree with you. Besides thinking cloning is wrong, there are many lonely pets sitting in shelters who need good loving homes.

  3. Yes I agree with you. I love my dog to death, but he is a rescue and when his time ends I will find another rescue. I pretty much think breeding should be squashed until we can get our unwanted pet population under control. Cloning will just make the problem greater.

  4. I'm agreeing with you. The clone may not look like the original animal.  I lost a torti cat to kidney failure.  I miss her, but I'm not going to clone her.  If I tried to clone her, the developing embryo would form a torti with a different pattern.  Same goes for striped cats.  The stripes may not develop in the same place.  Now, if you had a black cat, that would be different, but there are so many black cats at the shelter who need a home.  The other issue is that the cat will have a different environment, so it won't behave exactly like your own cat.  (Think of a set of identical twins.  Sure, same family, same school... but they are still different.)  Just save the animals at the shelter.

Want to get philosophical?  I don't think the clone is the same animal.  Two different souls (unless you get lucky and your old pet is reincarnated into your new one).

  5. I am sorry but cloning isn't going to ensure that the cloned puppy will have the same temperment as the prior beloved pet who was cloned.  Temperment comes with how they are raised starting with the breeder and followed up by the family who loves them.

so what is going to happen to the others' of the 5 that were cloned (refering to the women with the cloned dog in the yahoo news)  most places say 2-3 dogs per home.
