Do you support the death penalty for intent to murder?

Not actually, but thinking about, looking it, shopping for hit men, whatever. The murder never gets committed, but the thought was in mind.

Should this be a capital offense?

If so, defend this position please.

  1. I do.  If it can be proven that somebody tried to murder, hire for murder, etc. they should be given the death penalty.  When we give murders the death penalty, we give it to them based on the fact they did it, and the mind set to do it.  If somebody has the mind set, and is willing to kill somebody, they should be punished equally as someone who was able to carry through with the thought.

  2. No.  If we can (and do) make mistakes that send innocent people to death row, the chances of this happening are even worse for crimes of intent to murder.

  3. No, if the death penalty was for attempt or solicitation without murder - that would take away one incentive to not commit the rest of the crime.

  4. No, I am anti death penalty, no exceptions.

Our justice system is imperfect, and we should not use a punishment that we can never take back if we find out later the person was innocent.

  5. No I don't and neither does the legislative bodies of our states.  I don't believe there is a state that has the death penalty for that.

  6. Only if theres Proof That They Tried To Kill Someone.
