In some localities, there is a phone number, 211, that people call to help out or to get help. Should the government help the charities by providing funds for more operators and longer hours of service?

national web site: www.211.org

one state's website: www.utah211.org

phone number: 211 (only works in some places during some hours of the day).

  1. I think the government helping out charities that benefit the community is a great idea, especially if the charities can do it more efficiently than the government can (by using volunteers rather than civic employees, for instance.)
